Lord Gowrie - Chairman

Lord Gowrie was educated at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford. After an academic career at Harvard and University College London, he held office in Edward Heath’s and Margaret Thatcher’s administrations. He was Minister for the Arts 1983-85. He left the Cabinet in 1985 to become Chairman of Sotheby’s in Europe 1985-1994. He was Chairman of the Arts Council of England 1994-98. He lives in London and Wales and is married to Adelheid von der Schulenburg.

Charles Dupplin

Charles Dupplin is Head of the Art & Private Client Division and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions for Hiscox Group. Charles is a barrister and joined Hiscox in 1990. He ran Hiscox's network of continental European offices from 1995-2000 and started Hiscox's Guernsey insurance company in 1998. He is also a member of the Executive Committee that runs Hiscox. Charles has been Chairman of the Royal Caledonian Trust since 1997 and is a member of the Royal Company of Archers (Queen's Bodyguard for Scotland). In 2007 he became the President of the National Trust for Scotland's London Branch.

Bruno Schroder
Bruno Schroder attended the Université de Tours, the School of Languages in Hamburg, the University of Oxford and Harvard Business School. He joined Schroders in 1960 and became a director in 1963. He is a major shareholder of Schroders plc. He was Prime Warden of the Goldsmiths Company and remains on the Court. He is a member of the Air Squadron and Trustee of the Winston Churchill Foundation. Bruno Schroder is a collector of silver. He is married with one child.
